style="COLOR: #990000; FONT: 10pt Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Lietuvių Dienos</b></font> (Lithuanian Days Festival) in <b>Los Angeles - October 2-3, 2010</b>,
and will be traveling across the Pacific to participate in the <font
style="COLOR: #990000; FONT: 10pt Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Lietuvių Dienos - Šokių Šventė</b></font> (Lithuanian Days - Dance Festival) in <b>Melbourne, Australia - December 28, 2010</b>.</p>

In preparation for Melbourne, <font
style="COLOR: #666600; FONT: 10pt Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Spindulys</b></font> dancers will be hosting and performing in <i>fundraising events</i> on <b>October 30th</b> with a <b>Holloween Party</b> at <b>St. Casimir Parish Hall</b>, and will present their new dances on <b>December 19th - 12 noon</b> also at St. Casimir's Parish Hall. </p>

anniversary</b> in 2009 with a music <a href="flash/svente_vid.html" ><b>video</b></a>, an <a href="news.html#aukso"><b>award</b></a>, and a <a href="news.html#lietuva" ><b>trip to Lithuania</b></a>.
<p>This notable year concluded with participation in dances at the <b>'Amžių sutartinę' 1000 year celebration</b> in <b>Vilnius, Lithuania</b>. Afterward the group held its own <b>60th-Jubilee</b> party at the medieval island castle of <b>Trakai</b> on <b>July 7th, 2009</b> - see <a href="09-lietuva/index.htm"><b>photo gallery</b></a>. </p>

The <font
style="COLOR: #9f0000; FONT: 10pt Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>LB Spindulys Film and Video Archive Project </b></font> representing the collected films and videos from the <b>Paulius Jasiukonis Estate</b> has now been digitized in video and audio files. <font

On <font color="#FF0000"><B>July 6th, 2008</B></font></b> over 1200 dancers from
around the world, including Los Angeles <font
style="COLOR: #666600; FONT: 10pt Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Spindulys</b></font>, performed a
spectacular program, mixing mythology and dance, under the artistic direction
of <B>Danguole Varnas</b>, at the <b>Galen Center</b>, downtown Los Angeles.
This event and other activities has brought <a href="news.html#golden">awards and distinction</a> to <font
style="COLOR: #666600; FONT: 10pt Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Spindulys</b></font> and its director Danguole R. Varnas.<br>

style="COLOR: #888800"; FONT: 11pt verdana">SPINDULYS</font></b></i> is
under the direction of <b>Danguole R. Varnas.</b> It's origins can
be traced to 1949, when <b>Ona Razutiene</b>, a Lithuanian immigrant,
founded the first Lithuanian folk song and dance group in Los Angeles.
This original group continued to thrive and grow, and in 1977 was re-named
<b>'SPINDULYS'</b>. The complete history is available (in Lithuanian) as a <a href="ona_razu.htm" target="main"><b>Historical
Book</b></a>.</p>
